You give Prowl your bank statements. It turns them into clean, sorted transactions and honest reports, and it does nearly all of the work itself.
Have a look inside a finished one first → — someone else's accounts, filled with invented money, yours to click through. Nothing to sign up for.
Most budgeting apps assume one country and one currency. Prowl converts every transaction at its own day's rate, keeps the original amount forever, and refuses to guess a rate it can't verify rather than quietly using the wrong one. If you live between countries, this is the part nothing else does properly.
Categorise a shop once and every future transaction from that shop follows, forever. Transfers between your own accounts, credit-card bill payments and currency exchanges are found and kept out of your spending automatically — because paying your own card is not an expense, and an app that counts it as one is lying to you.
Prowl never throws a transaction away. Anything excluded from your totals is greyed out where it sits, with the reason shown, and one click puts it back. Your numbers agree with each other on every screen because they are all computed the same way.
Wherever Prowl has decided something, there is an eye you can click to see what it decided and what it read to decide it. It is not a black box, and it never asks you to trust a number you can't check.
Statement upload works with no bank connection at all — Prowl reads files you export yourself, so there is no bank password to hand over. Connecting your bank is optional, and the sign-in happens inside Plaid's own window (a regulated bank-data provider), so your bank login never touches prowl either way. How prowl protects your data →
Being straight with you about this is the point:
Prowl is invitation-only while it's being finished. Leave your email and you'll be the first to know when the doors open — an email address is all it asks for.
